Mr. Gerlach joined SolarReserve in December 2008 with 13 years of project finance banking experience at HSBC and Société Générale. As a Senior Vice President at HSBC he arranged and advised on high profile transactions in several industries. Five of his most recent transactions received deal of the year awards by Project Finance Magazine and/or Project Finance International:
the $1.2 billion non-recourse financing of GNL Quintero S.A, an LNG regasification terminal in central Chile;
the $822 million Sabine Pass LNG regasification terminal inaugural financing;
the $1.5 billion Sabine Pass expansion financing,
the $1.8 billion Project Harbour acquisition financing of four port assets in the United States and Canada, and
the C$800 million OPTI Canada Oil Sands project in Alberta, Canada.
More generally, Mr. Gerlach’s industry experience encompasses oil & gas, power, infrastructure, and telecommunications projects in 15 countries within the Americas and the EMEA regions.
Mr. Gerlach was awarded an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance from the Cass Business School in London and a BSc (Honours) in Economics and Business Studies from the University of London.
